1. Intake/Drain light is flashing
2. Dishwasher not taking in any water
3. Dishwasher not draining the water
4. Dishwasher starts and stops after few min.
When the Intake/Drain light is flashing, it is important to note when the lights start flashing during the cycle. If the lights start flashing right at the start of the cycle, it could mean that the intake valve is faulty and is not allowing the water to enter the dishwasher. If the intake valve checks out OK, then the main control board is another likely possibility. Main control board would need to be tested for voltage. If the proper voltage is not present, then the main control board would have to be replaced.
Once these two parts check OK, then we would need to consider the Float switch. This switch is operated in accordance to water level inside the dishwasher or sometimes when leaks are present. The Float switch could be stuck on an “up” position, therefore making the dishwasher think that the water level is as high as it needs to be, consequently, not allowing any more water into the dishwasher.
Another possibility for an Intake/Drain light flashing in the beginning of the cycle could be because the circulation pump motor is either seized (stuck) or possibly worn out (replaced).
If the Intake/Drain lights start to flash during the middle of the cycle and suddenly stops and drains the water, then the heater relays could be at fault. You can test these heater relays with an Volt meter. If readings are not according to standards, then replace the relays. One other possibility that can attribute to a dishwasher to flash the Intake/Drain light in the middle of the cycle could be a bad water level switch or temperature (heat) level switch.
